Some thoughts on the CTA Hall of fame…..
Constant change – Those that pursue tennis seriously are faced with unpredictable challenges in a constantly changing environment. The players listed here have learned how to deal with change and achieved success over long periods of time.
Credibility – There are a lot of sports to play and a lot of programs to choose from. The players on this list are a testimony to the credibility of our program which we hope speaks to the parents considering sending their kid’s to CTA. Our hope is that they also serve as models for the players in our program at present.
Create an environment – When the players listed here started in our program there was no way that we could predict how successful they would be. Our goal is to create an environment that enables those kids who have the desire and work ethic to excel to do so. We consider it a privilege to work with all the kids who come to our program, not just the most “talented” players. Every player has equal access, these players have made the most of the opportunity.
Credit – These players alone deserve the recognition for their achievements in the sport. We, at CTA, take no credit for their success. We do, however, take pride in having provided them with a great place to pursue the sport at a high level, only a few have achieved to the degree of those listed here.
Criteria – Coaches, programs, and players come and go. Listed here are players who spent many years training with us at CTA, most were with us throughout their junior careers. All the players listed were successful high school players (most were #1 on their teams) and achieved high rankings at the state, southern, or national levels. They all participated at the college level, many received scholarships. Success can be defined in many ways, we had to limit ourselves somehow so we restricted ourselves to the criteria listed above.
Consistency- We have been running our program at CTA since the fall of 1989, our vision has been to provide a quality, consistent program for players at all levels. The best athletes in any sport perform consistently well over long periods of time. We take pride in having done that in our program and the players listed here have as well.
