The High Performance Program is specially designed for players that exemplify outstanding commitment, ability, and passion for this wonderful sport. High Performance players have an elite mindset and may aspire to play tennis at the tournament, college, and/or pro level. This year-round, rain or shine program is led by CTA Owner, USPTA Certified Elite Professional, and former Top 200 WTA Professional in Singles and Doubles, Cory Ann Avants. Please find the guidelines for our High Performance Program outlined below.
MONDAY – THURSDAY 5:30-7:30PM
Players must have the ability to hit a minimum 25-ball rally. There is no minimum age requirement.
Coach Cory Ann and her team will work with each player to develop a customized coaching plan. No two plans will be the same.
Players must attend a minimum of 2 High Performance classes per week plus at least 1 private lesson weekly with a CTA pro.
High Performance players are expected to enter in at least 1 tournament per month. Tournament schedule will be organized and compiled by CTA.
RAIN OR SHINE
If it rains players will participate in various classroom activities to elevate their game – including mental toughness, tennis strategy, and sportsmanship.
To enhance the improvement process, players will be recorded periodically to analyze their tennis development. Coach’s commentary will be accessible for review through an analysis app.
Hall of Fame
Our intent in providing this list is to give parents/players some perspective on our program and the world of junior tennis. There is no magic formula that guarantees success, each one of these players is unique. They do share, however, a common bond and lasting legacy at Charlotte Tennis Academy.
Thoughts on the Hall of Fame
Those that pursue tennis seriously are faced with unpredictable challenges in a constantly changing environment. The players listed here have learned how to deal with change and achieved success over long periods of time.
The players on this list are a testimony to the credibility of our program which we hope speaks to the parents considering sending their children to CTA. Our hope is that they also serve as models for the players in our program at present.
Our goal is to create an environment that enables those kids who have the desire and work ethic to excel to do so. We consider it a privilege to work with all the kids who come to our program, not just the most talented players. Every player has equal access.
We have been running our program at CTA since the fall of 1989, our vision has been to provide a quality, consistent program for players at all levels. The best athletes in any sport perform consistently well over time; we strive to do the same.
