Player Development

Our ROGY (Red, Orange, Green and Yellow) programs prepare new junior tennis players for a life-long love for the sport of tennis. Players develop a foundation by working on the fundamentals of hand-eye coordination, movement skills and stroke production. Progression through the ROGY program is based on the player’s success at completing level appropriate tasks, exercises, and competition.

Our school-year scheduling begins in Sept following Labor Day and players may register for the days that work best for them at any point during the school year. Clinics are offered Mondays thru Thursdays and Saturdays to offer a flexible schedule for our families.

Red Ball

FOR AGES 6-8
Geared towards introducing tennis to our young beginners

FOCUS ON ABC’s & BASIC RACQUET SKILLS
• Agility, balance, and coordination
• Controlling the ball, tracking skills – sending and receiving

Players utilize foam and red balls with a 21 or 23-inch net on a 36-foot court. Our Red Ball players will learn the fundamentals of this wonderful sport in a safe and fun environment.

Orange Ball

FOR AGES 9-11
Geared towards teaching our young beginners how to rally

FOCUS ON BUILDING CONFIDENCE
• Agility, balance, and coordination
• Footwork, spacing, and swing technique

Players utilize orange balls with a 25-inch net on a 60-foot court. The proper grips and swing technique will be emphasized. Players will participate in cooperative drills and competitive games in a fun environment!

Green Ball

FOR AGES up to 12

Geared towards continuing to build a solid tennis foundation

FOCUS ON BUILDING CONFIDENCE
• Agility, balance, and coordination
• Footwork, spacing, and swing technique

Players utilize green with a 25 or 26-inch net on a full size 78-foot court. Green ball players will continue building on their tennis foundation in an engaging and competitive learning environment.

Monday/Wednesday 4:30pm-6:30pm
Saturday 10am-12:00pm

Yellow Ball

FOR AGES 12 & Up
Geared towards teens and pre-teens who want to further develop their tennis skills

FOCUS ON OVERALL TENNIS ABILITY
• Continue developing strong tennis foundation
• Produce proper, consistent swing technique and footwork

Yellow Ball players will continue building upon their tennis foundation and improving their overall tennis ability. Players utilize yellow balls with a 25 or 26-inch net on a full size 78-foot court.

high school tennis prep charlotte tennis academy

High School Prep

FOR 8th – 12th GRADERS
Geared towards prospective and current High School team players

FOCUS ON COMPETITIVE ABILITY
• Build strong understanding of match strategy and tactics
• Produce proper, consistent swing technique and footwork

The CTA High School Prep program is for players preparing to compete on their High School Varsity and Junior Varsity teams. Players must be in eighth grade or higher to participate. Our goal is to coach prospective high school players in developing the necessary skills for achieving success at the High School level. Coaches will focus on proper technique, footwork, match strategy, and mental toughness.
